(which together surround the spinal cord):

-TRANSVERSE PROCESSES (two)

SPINOUS PROCESS

-ARTICULAR PROCESSES

(one superior, one inferior)

-ZYGAPOPHYSEAL/FACET JOINTS

(made up of superior articular facet of upper vertebra and inferior facet of lower one)
