Lesson
Bones
Types of Bone – long, irregular, short, flat
Muscles are attached to bones and cause them to move
Main Roles – supporting framework
– act as levers to make motion more efficient
Bone can be made stronger through appropriate loading
Fractures are caused by lower magnitude repetitive or
higher magnitude one-time forces which can be compression, tension, shear or torsion
stress, strain
Golf: use bones as long levers
prevent excessive loading – spine, knees, hips, elbows
