Types of Bone – long, irregular, short, flat

Muscles are attached to bones and cause them to move

Main Roles – supporting framework

– act as levers to make motion more efficient

Bone can be made stronger through appropriate loading

Fractures are caused by lower magnitude repetitive or

higher magnitude one-time forces which can be  compression, tension, shear or torsion

stress, strain

Golf: use bones as long levers

prevent excessive loading –  spine, knees, hips, elbows
